Tour de Bowness Street FestivalTour de Bowness Street Festival

2020 Event Cancelled

The Tour de Bowness Street Festival has been a partnership event between the community of Bowness and the Bowness Business Improvement Area (BIA) since 2011 when Bowness celebrated its 100th birthday. This event was so well received by the community that it has become a great way to celebrate the vibrant and historical “Bowness” we all call home. Since its inception, attendance has been steadily growing and we intend on expanding it every year. This year we hope to see attendance increase to over 6,000 people.

Food is always a great addition to an outdoor event and we have great food vendors lined up to bring you the best “festival food” Calgary has to offer! Local restaurants offer great patios and host specials to help you enjoy your festival day with us that much better. Live music is always a great way to throw a party! Live, local bands are signed up to play for your enjoyment. You will probably find yourself tapping your toes to the sounds of our very own ” The Bownesians”. Art is another way for a community to come together. Local artists are available to get you in that creative mood while activities for your kids keep your little ones engaged and excited. We want to encourage as many local vendors and artisans as we at our annual street festival. Promoting local talent is a positive way to build our communities to be stronger and healthier.

Our neighbourhood prides itself on an enduring sense of being while shaped by the physical surroundings of the river, woods and valley. The annual Tour de Bowness cycling race, which corresponds with the street festival, has racers reach speeds of up to 70km/hour as they race on a circuit that loops from Bowness Rd. and around the streets of the community. This popular bike race boasts the largest amateur cycling event in Alberta where competitors come from all over to compete against each other in a challenging, yet welcoming, environment.

We love to celebrate the character of our beloved Bowness and we wish to share that with all Calgarians and beyond.
